As Executive Director of the Cottage Grove Chamber, I’ve had a chance to learn a lot about our community as well as our members, and I can tell you that Cottage Grove is a town full of incredible things. We are home to the last remaining covered railroad bridge this side of the Mississippi River, the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway boasts some of the most picturesque and family friendly bicycling opportunities in the state, and our Historic Downtown offers shopping and dining experiences that visitors will not soon forget. Summers are absolutely packed with events because of our consistently sunny days with high temperatures ranging from 75 to 80 degrees and our winters are so mild that most people don’t even own a snow shovel.
The people who live, work and play here are equally impressive. Artists, musicians, inventors, and innovators from all over the country have chosen to plant their roots in Cottage Grove in addition to folks with long-standing histories in the Mining and Timber Industries (among others), which makes for a very diverse and well balanced structure for community and civic leadership.
At the Chamber we are working hard to communicate and collaborate with as many local businesses and leadership organizations as possible. There is no stronger community than one that works together and we want to provide a voice for our businesses that is as strong and well informed as possible. I encourage all residents and visitors in our community to support these efforts by not only shopping locally whenever possible but shopping local Chamber members whenever possible. These are people and businesses that have chosen to invest in the future prosperity of Cottage Grove. Use this directory as your guide to know who to call on first for whatever goods and services you need, and let’s thank them by supporting their businesses.
Thank you for your support and I wish you the very best.
